Come ogni anno, durante l’annuale World Science Fiction Convention, a Spokane, negli Stati Uniti, sono stati assegnati i Premi Hugo, i più importanti riconoscimenti legati alla narrativa fantascientifica e fantasy. Tra i vari vincitori, spiccano due titoli in diverso modo legati al fumetto. Il primo volume della Ms. Marvel scritta da G. Willow Wilson e disegnata da Adrian Alphona e Jake Wyatt (Marvel Comics), ha infatti vinto il premio come miglior “graphic story”, mentre il film Guardiani della Galassia di James Gunn ha portato a casa il riconoscimento per la migliore rappresentazione drammatica in forma lunga.
