Watchmen, la serie tv di HBO ispirata all’omonimo fumetto di Alan Moore e Dave Gibbons pubblicato da DC Comics, ha ricevuto 26 candidature all’edizione 2020 degli Emmy Award, il più importante premio televisivo a livello internazionale, assegnato annualmente dalla Academy of Television Arts & Sciences.
La serie ideata da Damon Lindelof – andata in onda in Italia su Sky Atlantic tra ottobre e dicembre 2019 – è quella che ha ottenuto più nomination, davanti a La fantastica signora Maisel di Amazon Prime Video (20 candidature), Ozark di Netflix (18) e Succession della stessa HBO (anche lei con 18). A livello di network, invece, il primato di nomination va a Netflix, con 160, davanti proprio a HBO, a quota 107, e tutti gli altri più distanziati.
